Hetalia Mexico Snaps PANDAS

You know how much China ADORES pandas, so if China gave you a Panda it meant that he really, really wanted to be your friend and that he considered you worthy to take care of them.

Pandas are national treasure for China (and for the world) . From 1958 to 1982 China gave pandas to 11 countries ( however in fact the panda diplomacy comes back even since the Tang Dynasty (6º-7º century) when the Chinese emperor send 2 pandas to Japan´s emperor), however in 1984 China canceled gifts and stated to loan pandas for 10 years and huge restrictions, right now even thinking about loaning a panda to other country still counts as a diplomatic friendship measure, because even if a country would pay the loan, China would still think very hardy about allowing such loan.

Pandas are highly endangered species, there are very few of them and its a pain in the ass trying to reproduce them, and if you add their very specific diet, the habitat destruction, the climate they live and things like that its easy to comprehend why there are so few.

Note: keeping a panda is twice as expensive for a zoo than maintaining and elephant, so the pandas are the most expensive species to maintain.

Panda´s are apparently a species doomed to extinction , they reproduce once every 1-2 years, the heat for the female lasts 2-7 days only and show no clear signs that they are in heat, the genitals size dont exactly match between sexs, the males in captivity show very little interest in mating and if they do the erection lasts so little that China gave male pandas viagra (And even showed them panda porn to help them get the idea of what to do -_-0 ) (it worked).

And even artificial insemination has problems and a good change of failing >_<

On top of that only 1 or 2 cubs are born if at all (if 2 cubs then most likely the mother will abandon 1), and cubs in general have a very little survival change, even when in captivity with a lot of vets tending to all their needs.

México is actually quite awesome at managing to reproduce endangered species when he puts the effort into it (which sadly is not as much as it should).

When México managed to reproduce the pandas it was a world wide awesome new, because in all history no one had managed that, but pandas are only one of those species that Mexico managed to reproduce.

México has the 3º biggest aviary in the world "El nido" (Ixtapaluca, edo. de Méx.) where after like 14 years of research they have managed to reproduce the panda of the birds "the quetzal", a bird that even aztec and maya empire loved and had laws that prohibited killing it, and they are now working on Harpy eagles and other species.

The "san juan de aragon" zoo also was basically the only place in the world that kept a line of mexican wolfs, the Veracruz aquarium was the first one to manage to keep in captivity and then release big sharks (tiger shark) , Xcaret in Cancún is the most successful red guacamaya reproduction center in the world, the reproduction of turtles is going good and the sanctuary of wales in baja does great too.
